Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.

So when I first heard that one of the best actors in Hollywood’s next movie was about ping pong, I was disappointed. I love timothee chalamet but really ping pong? That’s what I thought. But then I saw the trailer, heard the early buzz, and I got very excited.

It actually ended up becoming one of my most anticipated films of the later part of the year. And now after it got nine Oscar nominations including best actor and best picture I have finally watched it, and I can safely say, it is one of the best movies to come out last year and I never should’ve doubted Timothee Chalamet!

I loved Marty Supreme! When the movie ended I remember thinking “No! I wish it wouldn’t end!” And that’s how I feel! I mean I just got home and if someone asked me if I could watch it again, I would say yes in a heartbeat!

So stating off with the acting this is the best performance I have seen from Timothee Chalamet (and I have seen some good ones) but no this one is just incredible truly. It honestly is my favorite lead performance of 2025, he plays him so well with even veins popping out of his head at points in the movie I mean I was just in awe.

Gwyneth Paltrow is also great in this movie, as is Kevin O’Leary and Odessa A’zion, also Tyler The Creator also great! But the movie also has this really cool chaotic energy to it where it just keeps going and going and you’re just along for the ride. Josh Safdie does an incredible job directing and the costumes and the production design are great too.

The only negative I have is a spoiler so that will be in the spoiler section

Ok so the only problem I have with this movie, is that the dog subplot completely went off the rails by the end of the movie. I mean seriously have people pull guns on each other in a sports drama was just really dumb and again completely off the rails

I loved Marty Supreme so much and I can’t recommend it enough. There is virtually nothing wrong with this movie. Yes it seems silly to treat ping pong with such a high regard, but once you watch the movie and get on board this crazy ride you won’t question it enough. Once again I truly believe this is the best performance from Timothee Chalamet I have ever seen it also has great directing, and really crazy chaotic feel to it
