Send Help

A woman and her overbearing boss become stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. They must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.

So I have been interested in Send Help since the first trailer. I mean one you have Sam Raimi directing this movie! That was enough to get me hyped! I mean Rachel McAdams (who I knew from Doctor Strange is great too! And that first trailer just totally sold me on the film! I mean two co workers getting trapped on an island where one is a mean boss and the other a misunderstood weirdo who goes crazy on the island! Sounded awesome! So I watched it, and I can safely say Send Help blew away all of my expectations.

Simply to say this movie is phenomenal! Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’brien are incredible in there two roles. They really sell you on there characters so quickly. And you’re able to connect with both of them at different times in the movie easily. Sam Raimi also does such a good job directing, it’s genuinely insane what he’s able to pull off with this movie. He’s able to use the camera in such an interesting and cool way that really gives the film such a cool visual language. They movie is also incredibly suspenseful! It constantly left me on the edge of my seat wondering what was gonna happen. The movie is also terrifying. Between its jump scares and sequences it’s awesome. It also had so many awesome memorable scenes, which I’ll get into more in spoilers.

SPOILERS:

It’s genuinely insane how this movie is able to introduce a lovable weirdo like Linda and have the audience really like her but through Rachel Mcadams incredible performance and they great script can make you hate Linda by the end of the movie. At least that’s how it was for me. I mean I was cheering for bradley to kill that crazy lady. The boar scene was incredible as well as her puking on him and that ghost jump scare made me help in the theater! Near the end I realized this movie was a See It Twice until that ending, endings can make and break a movie for me. Usually when I see an ending I don’t like it can’t just make me hate the movie, that almost happened for me with  this movie but because of how good this movie is with it’s acting, directing, horror, and everything else I still loved this movie even by the end I hated Linda with a burning passion.

Overall I loved Send Help! It is a horror film that is scary, has incredible performances, and will leave you on the edge of your seat. This is really a special kind of crazy movie that I highly recommend. Feels like the type of movie people are always complaining about wanting more of. A really good original movie.
